§ 20-131. Starvation of animals.

It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation having charge or custody of any animal to fail to provide it with proper food, drink, and protection from the weather, or to cause any of these acts to be done. Any person convicted of violating this section shall be punished by a fine or not less than $50.00 nor more than $300.00, or by imprisonment in jail for a term not exceeding 90 days, or by both such fine and imprisonment.
