§ 14-70. Health department powers.

  • The state, regional or local health department has the full power to take all measures necessary to promote the health and cleanliness, to abate all nuisances of every description on public and private property; to prevent the introduction or spreading within the town of malignant, contagious and infectious diseases and to remove, detain, isolate or quarantine any person attacked by or having any such disease, or having been exposed thereto; and to promulgate such rules and regulations as may be necessary to perform its functions. Said health department shall have the authority to enforce such rules of the health department of the state as are applicable to particular situations.
