§ 14-102. Junkyards and dumping grounds.

  • No residential property, and unless such use is permitted by the building, zoning and land use codes of the town, no commercial or industrial property shall be used or maintained as a junkyard, or dumping grounds, or for the wrecking or disassembling of automobiles, trucks, tractors, or motor vehicles or machinery, or parts, or household or business appliances or equipment of any kind, or for the storing or leaving of worn out, wrecked or abandoned automobiles, trucks, tractors, trailers, boats, campers, travel trailers, mobile homes or house trailers, or machinery or household or business appliances or equipment of any kind, or of any of the parts thereof, or for the storing or leaving of any machinery or equipment or parts thereof or scrap of any kind; and the same is hereby declared to be unlawful and punishable as provided in section 1-14 and is also declared to be a nuisance which may be abated as provided in section 14-3.
